Fishing

Arbroath (30 minutes from Kirriemuir) is the main sea-angling centre. There are a number of angling charter boats operating from the harbour and a variety of excellent rock, cliff and beach marks to the north of the town. River South Esk enjoys good salmon and sea trout from early February till October. Brown trout fishing is available on the River Lunan and Rescobie Loch produces quality brown and rainbow trout.
